MACON — Billie Dickson, 73, died Dec. 3, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion MB Church with the Rev. Reginald Mosley officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is from noon-6 p.m. today at R&B Grand Event Center in Macon. Carter’s Funeral Services of Macon is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Dickson was born Sept. 21, 1944, to the late Freddie Dickson and Mary Joe James. He was previously employed as a teacher at Aliceville High School and Columbus High School. He was a member of Mt. Zion MB Church and a graduate of Mississippi Valley State University and Mississippi State University. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Turner. He is survived by his spouse, Reecy Dickson; children, Billy C. Dickson Jr. of Plainfield, Illinois, Dirk Dickson of Macon, Ron Dickson of Macon and Roxie Dickson-Lee of Macon; siblings, Rosa James of Inglewood, California, and Donnie James of Torrence, California; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
