William “Bill” David Pelphrey, 68, of Caledonia, MS passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 2, 2016, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Kolola Springs Baptist Church, Caledonia, MS. A Funeral Service will follow at Kolola Springs Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Bro. Don Harding officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Pelphrey was born August 19, 1948, to Nancy Sluss and the late Rev. Richard Pelphrey in Paintsville, KY. He was in the graduating class of 1967 in Wabash, IN and served in the U. S. Air Force for 22 years. Mr. Pelphrey was also an aircraft mechanic for Dynacorp for 20 years. He was a member of Kolola Springs Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, bass fishing, hunting, and listening to gospel music. Most importantly, Mr. Pelphrey loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law-Rev. Newt Music and 2 deceased siblings. Mr. Pelphrey is survived by his daughters-Alicia (Timothy) Livingston, Caledonia, MS, Sheila Pelphrey, Columbus, MS and Rachael Marie Pelphrey, Steens, MS; sons-William David Pelphrey, Jr. and Robert Shane (Brandie) Pelphrey, both of Columbus, MS; mother- Nancy Sluss; sisters-Virginia Music, Boons Camp, KY; Linda (Cledies) Holbrook, Wabash, IN and Deloise Hurst, Roann, IN; brothers-Charles (Joy) Pelphrey, Roann, IN and Roger Pelphrey, North Manchester, IN; and 9 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Charles Pelphrey, Roger Pelphrey, Cody Tenney, Tim Livingston, Bill Pelphrey, and Robert Pelphrey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cledies Holbrook, Blake Livingston, Parker Pelphrey, and Preston Pelphrey.
