TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Bettye Lewis Fisher, 69, died June 29, 2025, at DCH-Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be at  11 a.m. Friday, at Cedar Grove M.B. Church in Columbus, with the Rev. Johnnie Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Thursday, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Fisher was born Sept. 27, 1955, in Columbus, to the alte George Washington Nelson Jr. and Matilda Louis Nelson. She was a member of Cedar Grove M.B. Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Willie G. Nelson, James Nelson, Willie J. Nelson, John D. Nelson, Mary N. Riley and Georgia Brown.

She is survived by her children, Trishund Willis of Northport, Alabama, Kenya Fisher of Tuscaloosa, Kiya Fisher of Walls and Beverly Fisher Carter of Greenville; sister, Essie N. Collister of Columbus; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
