GUIN, Ala. — Betty “Sue” Morris, 90, died Sept. 6, 2025, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin, Alabama.

Funeral services were at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Otts Funeral Home Chapel, with Glenn Hughes officiating. Burial followed at Wofford Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent was in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Morris was born Aug. 17, 1935, in Vernon, to the late Grady Merchant and Evie Jane Elliott Merchant. She attended Lamar County High School and was formerly employed with Health-Tex and as a licensed practical nurse with Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle and Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Guy Merchant, Bobby Merchant, Ray Merchant, Jo Rea Williams and Dot Gaumer.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathie Glasgow, Debbie Morris and Gail Crotts, all of Guin, Shelia Perkins of Sullient, and Tina Kittrell of Hamilton; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
