Betty Eugenia Lofton, age 76, died Friday, August 15, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus.

Services were held Monday,  August 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chris Rutledge officiating; burial followed at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation was held one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lofton was born in Columbus, on July 12, 1949, to the late John E. Clardy and Mattie Mae Glenn Clardy. She was a member of Canaan Baptist Church, and a retired employee of United Technologies. She lived her life serving the lord and her family. She was the kindest and most loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Ray Lofton, Sr.; sister, Patsy Johnson; brothers, Johnny Clardy, Donnie Clardy and Ronnie Clardy.

Survivors include her son, Johnny R. Lofton, Jr.; her daughter, Teresa D. Hosford; grandchildren, Ashley Hosford, Jason Hosford, Jr. and Dawson Lofton; sisters, Mary Nell Pate, Glenda Faye Woodson; brothers, Lonnie Clardy and Roger Clardy; niece, April Clardy; nephews, Scott Pate, Mike Pate, Shane Pate, David Woodson, Randy Woodson and Marty Johnson.

The Pallbearers will be Jason Hosford Jr., Dawson Lofton, Roger Clardy, David Woodson, Sean Cole and Cole Ellis.
