Beatrice Wallace

ANDERSON, S.C. — Beatrice Brooks Wallace, 89, died March 12, 2026, in Anderson, South Carolina.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, at Glenn Chapel C.M.E. Church, with the Rev. William Petty and the Rev. Dr. Cheryl A. Kirk-Duggan officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the church. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wallace was born Jan. 18, 1937, in Somerville, Tennessee, to the late Ed and Emma Jane Brooks. She attended Fayette County Training Elementary and High Schools and McNeese State University in Lake Charles. She was a graduate of Mississippi Industrial College in Holly Springs and Southern University in Baton Rouge. She was formerly employed as an educator with the City of Como School District, Stone Street Elementary School and Hamiliton and Barbe Elementary Schools in Calcasieu Parish. She was a member of Wesley Chapel C.M.E. Church in Somerville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, David B. Wallace and Michael M. Wallace; and siblings, Vera Stitt, Wilola King, Clarice Roberts, Thelma Brooks, Emma Sue Campbell and James Brooks.
She is survived by her husband, Elder William Wallace Sr.; children, Dr. William Wallace Jr. of Williamsburg, Virginia, Karl Wallace of Spartanburg, and Tina Lee of Anderson; sisters, Ruby Jeffries of Kansas City, Kansas, and Ruth Patterson of Detroit, Michigan; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Karl Wallace, Quentin Wallace, Randy King, JaMario Wallace, William B. Wallace Jr. and Chadwick Jeffries.
