SHUQUALAK — Barbara Jean Scott, 82, died Dec. 15, 2025, in Kemper County.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home Chapel, with Gloria Jean Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Macon is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Scott was born July 5, 1943, in Shuqualak, to the late Huri and Henry Haynes. She was formerly employed with Cal-Jac and was a member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Scott.

She is survived by her children, Jacqueline Williams of Chicago, Illinois, Frederick Scott of Louisville, Danny Scott, Meredith Scott and Bodrick Scott, all of Shuqualak, Patrick Scott of Jackson, and Vernon Scott of Scooba; siblings, Bertha Haynes of Louisville, Annie Harrison of Davenport, Iowa, Freddie Haynes of Rock Island, and Art Haynes; 21 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
