Audrey Carter Louque

Audrey Mae Carter Louque of Collins, MS, passed away May 14, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. She was 98.
Funeral services for Audrey will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Salem Baptist Church in Collins, MS. Reverend Dennis Campbell and Reverend Stephen Hartman will officiate, and interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Audrey Mae Carter Louque was born on December 13, 1927, in Evansville, LA, to Dora Kirkland Carter and Joel Watt Carter.
Audrey grew up in Gillsburg, MS, and later moved to Baton Rouge where she met Hudson J. Louque, her late husband of 72 years. They moved for his work to Metarie, LA, then Jackson, and then to Collins where they made their home for over 50 years. They enjoyed traveling and made trips to many countries overseas.
Audrey loved flowers and gardening. She loved the Lord and her church and was always in attendance. Audrey and her late husband, Mr. Hudson, were members of Salem Baptist Church. She loved her daughters and went to work out of the home to help put them through college. She was always busy.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband, Hudson J. Louque; son-in-law, Danny O. Williams; grandson, Mark P. Williams; and brother, Vernon Lee Carter.
Audrey is survived by her daughters, Vicki Williams of Starkville, and Vivian (Tommy) Yeatman of Columbus; grandchildren, Valerie (James) Hicks, Luke (Laura Catherine) Yeatman, Trent Yeatman, and granddaughter in-law, Jacque Williams; 7 great-grandchildren; her brother, J. W. (Yvonne) Carter, and sister-in-law, Emmagene Carter, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Luke Yeatman, Trent Yeatman, James Hicks, Ethan Hicks, J. W. Carter, Jr. and Dale Louque.
Special thanks to the staff at Trinity Personal Care and Healthcare, and Baptist Hospice for taking such good care of her since her move to Columbus.
