CALEDONIA — Arthur Greer Jr., 85, died April 12, 2026, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Anderson Grove M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Sturdivant Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-5 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Greer was born July 29, 1940, in Holly Springs,to the late Arthur Greer Sr. and Geanie Rucker Greer. He was formerly employed as an educator with Columbus City schools and was a member of Hebron C.M.E. Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Helen Anderson, Dorothy Gean Green, Sarah Rogers, Ruth Rashada and Charles Walls.

He is survived by his wife, Alma Greer of Caledonia; children, Constance Cook of Caledonia, Cornelius Greer of Southfield, Michigan, and Craig Greer of Memphis, Tennessee; siblings, Sammie Greer of Holly Springs and Rena Thigpen of Memphis; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
