COLUMBUS — Altarea “Reecee” Tippett, 74, died May 9, 2026, at her residence. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at Carter’s Funeral Services with the Rev. Jeremiah Gardner. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Ms. Tippett was born on May 29, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Arthur Tippett and Nellie Walker Cotton. She was formally employed as a chef at Ryan’s Home Health Aid at Golden Triangle Home Health. 

She is survived by her siblings, Larry Cotton, Gergory Collins, Eric Collins, Timothy Collins and Audrey Keaton.
