COLUMBUS — Aaron Payne, 57, died Nov. 11, 2025, at his residence. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Friendship M.B. Church, with the Rev. Marcus S. Wright officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Hairston and Hairston Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Payne was born Oct. 17, 1968, in Columbus, to Dorothy Payne and the late Aaron James Payne Sr. He was a graduate of Caldwell High School and attended Alcorn State University. He was a member of Friendship M.B. Church and Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. 

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Terrence Bell. 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Letitia Payne; children, Terrence Payne, Petura Burke and Marcus Smith; sisters, Ecila Payne, Yeves Payne and Komanci Love; brother, Lenious Payne; and three grandchildren.
