Harvey White, age 79 of Columbus, Mississippi, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus, Mississippi.
Visitation will be Friday, June 19, 2026, at 1 PM at Woodland Baptist Church in Columbus, followed by a funeral service at 2 PM with Rev. Kevin Jenkins and Brad Wright officiating. Internment with U.S. Army honors will follow at Egger Cemetery, Caledonia, Mississippi.
He was born April 19, 1947, in Monroe County to the late James William White and Marie West White.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Loria Gordon and brother, Ernie White.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Sizemore White, brothers Tommy (Jennifer) of
Philadelphia, Mississippi, Herbert of Hamilton, Mississippi, Calvin (Lisa) of San Antonio, Texas, Carol Braswell of Starkville, Mississippi, Linda Parker (Larry) of Fulton, Mississippi, daughters Donna Loftis (Joey) of Atlanta, Georgia, Kimberly Stinson (Rusty) of Panama City, Florida and son, James of Columbus, Mississippi, grandsons Kristopher Westbrook, Joseph Loftis, Tyler Loftis, Austin Nipper, Chandler Stinson and Zander White, granddaughter Courtlyn Glasgow, six great grandchildren, together with many nieces and nephews.
Harvey lived a life marked by faith, service and dedication to his church, community and country. He served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman and thereafter a well known brick mason and home builder for more than 50 years. He was also a devoted deacon and Sunday school church leader at Woodland Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be his beloved son and grandsons.
