Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle Administrator Rob Coleman has announced that Pam Wright has been promoted to chief financial officer. She replaces Deena Keasler, who took the CFO position at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson in April.
Wright will serve on the senior leadership team and participate in the operational decision-making processes necessary for the hospital to fulfill its mission. She will be responsible for the overall financial operations of the hospital, including the oversight of accounting, patient access, medical records, information systems and materials management.
She has served in several financial positions at the hospital including assistant controller, controller and CFO. She was most recently serving as controller after stepping down to that position from CFO in 2018 to care for her elderly mother, ‘an act that speaks volumes about her character and values,’ said CEO Rob Coleman.
“We are thrilled to have Pam returning to the CFO position, where her leadership, experience and deep commitment to Baptist will continue to guide our financial success,” Coleman said.
Wright has lived in Columbus since she was six and her family moved to the city with the U.S. Air Force. She is a 1994 graduate of Columbus High School and a 1997 graduate of Mississippi University for Women with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She worked at T.E. Lott and Company and National Bank of Commerce (now Cadence Bank) before joining Baptist in 2002.
She and her husband Michael live in Columbus, where she enjoys spending time with family and their 12-year-old dog Abby. She enjoys decorating their home for the holidays.
She is a member of the Healthcare Finance Management Association.
“I am so excited to have been given the opportunity to fill this role again at Baptist Golden Triangle. I’m honored to be joining such a wonderful team,” Wright said.
Assistant Controller Nyki Smith was promoted to fill Wright’s position as hospital controller.
She is originally from Columbus and is a graduate of Immanuel Christian School (now Columbus Christian Academy). She received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from MUW and joined Baptist Golden Triangle in 2015 as assistant controller.
