A woman arrested two months ago for allegedly stabbing her husband was back in jail again last week for attacking him again.
Deputies with Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office arrested Charity Harkins, 28, of 95 Suggs Road, on Saturday for her third domestic violence charge, making the charge an automatic felony.
The assault allegedly took place in the parking lot of the Trojans Superette Saturday, according to a LCSO press release. After receiving a call that a man and woman were in the parking arguing, deputies arrived at the scene to find the victim injured. They searched the area and arrested Harkins when she came back to the scene.
Harkins was charged with attempt to commit an offense (attempted murder) on Feb. 14 after witnesses told authorities she stabbed her husband in the stomach. The victim was hospitalized and Harkins turned herself in to LCSO later that day.
Harkins’ bond for Saturday’s charge was set at $10,000. However, the bonding company that bailed her out for her February charge has surrendered the previous $50,000, meaning Harkins is currently in Lowndes County Adult Detention Center on $60,000 bond.
