The 2024 Charles H. Templeton, Sr. Ragtime and Jazz Festival, sponsored by Mississippi State University Libraries, is returning for its 18th year. The Sweet and Hot Quartet, Dave Majchrzak and Louis Ford and more will be performing. There will also be tours of the museum, informative talks and concerts throughout the weekend.
Magnolia Independent Film Festival

Starkville
The Magnolia Independent Film Festival will be returning to UEC Starkville Hollywood Premiere Cinemas from Thursday to Saturday. The festival includes short films, question and answer sessions, music videos, feature and narrative films and more. The Closing Night Awards party will be on Saturday starting at 10 p.m. Information and tickets for all events are available online.

The Greater Starkville Development Partnership is hosting the spring installment of “unWine Downtown,” a wine sampling and shopping experience in downtown Starkville. Check in will be at the Partnership from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tickets are available online for $25 in advance or for $30 at the door.

Columbus
Grace Elizabeth Hale, author of “In the Pines” will be visiting the Omnova Theatre, above the Rosenzweig Arts Center, for a talk with Ralph Eubanks from 2-3 p.m. The event is being put on by Friendly City Books Community Connection, a special project of the CREATE Foundation, the Columbus Arts Council and Mississippi State University Department of History.

Starkville Community Theatre will be hosting a new community improv group’s first practice upstairs in its Main Street location. No prior improv experience is necessary.
