The Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum is hosting a “Museum Miles, Race Through History” 5K fundraiser starting at the museum at 9 a.m. The run/walk will go through the Historic District, downtown area and the Cotton District.

The Junior Auxiliary of Starkville and Friends of the J.L. King Center will be hosting a free Reading Railroad event at the Starkville Sportsplex. Activities will include crafts, book readings, snacks and select books given away to take home. Sign-ups will also be available for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (0-4) and vision screenings will be available.

Starkville DIY will be hosting a poetry night in the Starkville Area Arts Council’s Main Street Lobby. Doors open at 6 p.m. with performances starting at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person.
