County and city schools across the area dismissed early today due to the threat of severe weather.
Columbus city schools dismissed students at 11:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. today.
Lowndes County schools dismissed at noon. The Lowndes County School District’s central office will close at 1 p.m.
Heritage Academy dismissed students at 12:30 p.m.
The Starkville School District will dismiss at 2 p.m. today. All extra-curricular activities and after school events are also canceled.
MUW has canceled all classes and events. They have also closed their offices. Events scheduled to take place on campus tonight have been canceled and will be rescheduled.
Other cancellations
Catfish in the Alley, which was scheduled tonight, has been postponed until Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
