Columbus Police Department officers responded to two shootings within an hour on Sunday afternoon. During the second, two men were shot and hospitalized.
Around 3 p.m. Sunday, CPD responded to the 1600 block of Fifth Avenue South after they received reports of gunfire. There were no injuries, according to a CPD press release, but a vehicle was struck.
About an hour later, police received a second call reporting gunfire at the 1300 block of 15th Street South. Two men, an 81-year-old and a 21-year-old, were shot in the back of their shoulders, CPD Public Information Officer Bryan Moore said. Both were taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle to be treated for their wounds.
The two shootings may be related and are still under investigation, Moore said.
Anyone with information regarding the shootings should contact CPD at (662) 244-3500 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at (800) 530-7151.
