Two people remain in the hospital, one in critical condition, following a Friday night automobile accident in east Lowndes County.
Around 11 p.m. emergency personnel responded to a call of a Chevrolet Silverado that had left the highway and overturned on Mert Rickman Road. The male and female occupants were both from Texas but were working locally, Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Marc Miley said Saturday.
One person was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo and is in critical condition. The other occupant remains at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in unknown condition.
Their names were not released. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
