A Lowndes County grand jury indicted a family accused of exploiting a vulnerable person by using thousands of dollars of her money for their personal use.
Michael, 53, and Tanya Enfinger, 20, of Caledonia, and Jennifer Enfinger, 46, of Houston, have been charged with one count each of exploitation of a vulnerable person and conspiracy, according to Lowndes County Circuit Court documents. The Attorney General’s Office investigated the case.
The Enfingers are accused of taking nearly $20,000 from the victim’s account for their personal use between July 11, 2018 and Oct. 31, 2019, according to the indictments. Michael Enfinger is accused of using $3,113.35 for his personal use; Tanya Enfinger is accused of using $3,078.29 for her personal use; and Jennifer Enfinger is accused of using $13,194.61 for her personal use.
A spokesperson from the AG’s Office did not confirm how the three defendants are related by press time today.
The defendants have been released from custody on $10,000 bonds.
