Two Starkville men are charged with 10 counts each of burglary in incidents that occurred between May and September.
Matthew Williams, 34, and Edward Shields, 28, were arrested Thursday, each on seven counts of commercial burglary and three counts of auto burglary, according to a Starkville Police Department press release. All are felony charges, and three targeted public facilities.
Commercial burglaries occurred at Starkville Utilities Water Division Operation Center and Starkville Sanitation and Environmental Services headquarters, both on D.L. Connor Drive, the press release said. Starkville-Oktibbeha Consolidated School District’s Emerson Family School on Louisville Street was also hit, and the suspects also are implicated in two burglaries at Community Counseling Services on North Jackson Street, one at Spin City laundromat on Martin Luther King Drive and another at Stromboli’s restaurant on University Drive.
The auto burglaries occurred on D.L. Connor Drive, according to police.
Both suspects appeared in Municipal Court on Friday, and their bonds were set at $50,000 each.
