STARKVILLE – A stabbing involving roommates in Starkville has resulted in one being charged with murder.
Jamarcus Smith, 31 of Starkville, was arrested Tuesday morning, according to a Starkville Police Department press release.
Officers responded at about 7:23 a.m. Tuesday to The Social Block on 110 Lincoln Green following a 911 call.
Officers found both roommates at their shared residence. The victim was taken out of the area for further medical treatment and later died, according to a SPD press release.
The victim’s identity had not been released by press time Tuesday.
Starkville Police Department Public Information Officer Lt. Brandon Lovelady declined to specify which hospital the victim was taken to and the victim’s current condition.
“It’s still early, and we’re still working through it,” Lovelady said.
