A rash of summer burglaries led to three arrests by the Starkville Police Department last week.
Melvin Bishop, 34, of 1458 Christy Lane in Starkville, was arrested Friday and charged with burglary.
Surveillance video from the University Motel on Highway 182 led to Bishop”s arrest in relation to a stolen wallet. He is currently in custody in the Clay County Jail awaiting bond.
Stacey Jones, 36, of 960 Surgis-West Point Road in Maben, was charged with receiving stolen goods Thursday in relation to a burglary at 418 Highway 182 earlier this month.
Jones attempted to sell the stolen items in West Point. She is being held in the Clay County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
And Brandon Travon Jefferson, 17, of 2301 Maple Drive in Starkville, was arrested Friday for a burglary at 710 Sassafras Drive.
Officers responded to the call at the residence and took a statement from Jefferson, who claimed to have witnessed the burglary, before determining Jefferson was a suspect. Jefferson admitted to breaking a window and entering the residence to steal money.
He is being held at the Clay County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
