STARKVILLE – A victim hospitalized after a Friday night apartment fire is expected to make a full recovery, according to a Starkville Fire Department Facebook post on Monday.
SFD was dispatched at about 9 p.m. to 110 Logan Drive, where the fire was already underway, according to a Saturday press release.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered there was one person still trapped inside on the second floor despite initial reports indicating all residents had evacuated the home.
Firefighters successfully searched the building, located and rescued the victim. Responders provided immediate care before the victim was airlifted to Jackson and initially listed in critical condition.
Another resident who was home at the time of the fire escaped unharmed.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
