STARKVILLE – One man is dead after an early morning fire in an apartment complex Friday.
The victim is identified as Rodney Jenkins, 72, Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt told The Dispatch.
Starkville Fire Department responded at about 3:50 a.m. to a 911 call about a fire at the West Main Arms apartment complex on Zuber Street.
While the fire was extinguished quickly, Interim Fire Chief Dewayne Davis said the cause is still under investigation by SFD and the state fire marshal. Only one unit was damaged, and there were no other injuries, he said.
