Starkville Police Department is looking for a suspect who allegedly attempted to extort money from someone Tuesday night on the east side of the city.
The armed suspect, described in a Wednesday SPD press release as a Black male wearing dark clothing, approached a vehicle on University Drive and forced the driver to take him to a bank “in an attempt to obtain money from the victim’s bank account,” the press release says. The suspect fled from the College View area when police responded shortly after 11 p.m. to a report of a suspicious incident.
The area will see a higher police presence as the investigation continues, the press release says.
