The Starkville Police Department charged a local woman with arson after she allegedly set an automobile on fire Thursday.
Officers responded to 305 Everglade Ave. about 4:56 a.m. Thursday in reference to a report of a burning vehicle. The fire was extinguished before officers and firefighters arrived, an SPD release states, and no other damage was reported.
After an investigation, 27-year-old Demetria Danielle Graham, of 305 Everglade Ave., Apt. 18-A, was charged with third-degree arson.
The incident originated from a previous altercation between the suspect and the owner of the vehicle, the release states.
Graham made her initial appearance in Starkville Municipal Court Thursday.
The incident was the second such reported by SPD this week.
Officers charged Teyana Shunquie Macon Savage on Sunday with third-degree arson after a domestic dispute that morning.
On-scene respondents were able to diffuse an argument at 6:20 a.m., but they were called back to the 1200 S. Louisville St. location after a burning vehicle was reported.
