Sally Kate Winters Family Services will host a trio of events Saturday in West Point in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Activities kick off at 5:30 p.m. at Sally Kate Winters Park in downtown West Point with a one-mile Fun Run for children, followed at 6:30 p.m. with a 5K Run for adults.
Family Fun Night activities will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the park. Sally Kate Winters will partner with the West Point Junior Auxiliary to provide inflatable jumpers for kids and glow-in-the-dark items for a Light Up the Night memorial in honor of victims of child abuse.
The Church Hill Elementary School Cherubs and West Point High School”s Dynasty show choir will provide entertainment. The Clay County Department of Human Services will be on hand with information on preventing child abuse.
Runners can register for the races at Sally Kate Winters Family Services at 317 N. Division St. in West Point, from 3 to 5 p.m. today, or at Sally Kate Winters Park from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Registration for the 5K run is $25 and $15 for the Fun Run and includes a T-shirt, meal ticket and post-race Family Fun.
