A veteran press expert with more than 30 years in the printing industry has joined The Dispatch as production manager.
Curtis Davis, a Georgia native, started at the paper this week, and will be in charge of printing operations and scheduling.
“Curtis brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our printing operation,” said Dispatch Publisher Birney Imes. “We”re thrilled to have him here and think readers and advertisers, once they see the improvements he makes, will be too.”
Davis was formerly pressroom supervisor at the Gainesville Times in Gainesville, Ga.
He was also pressroom supervisor at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution from 1994 to 2007.
In addition to newspapers, his experience includes printing magazines, including Time and Sports Illustrated, and other publications including telephone directories.
Davis said his focus would be on improving the print quality of the paper. “I”m very excited to be here and join the team,” he said.
