The Columbus Police Department is investigating a series of Friday burglaries.
According to Public Information Officer Glenda Buckhalter, a home at 820 21st St. N was burglarized March 30 at approximately 12:14 a.m.
“The owner of the home, Ricky Boone, said he realized his home had been broken into and some items were stolen,” Buckhalter said.
Two apartments at 320 21st St. N were also burglarized around the same time. Buckhalter did not state what, if anything, had been stolen from the apartments.
At 6:30 p.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to 508 19th St. N to investigate a possible burglary.
“The homeowner said access had been gained through his carport and several items were taken,” Buckhalter said. “Many of these serial numbers were listed with the National Crime Information Center, which is a nationwide database that reports the serial numbers of stolen items, as long as the serial numbers are registered with the Columbus Police Department. We encourage everyone to come down to the police department and get a serial number form. This is the best way to keep track of things if they are stolen.”
