The Columbus-Lowndes Recreation Authority Board of Directors voted Monday to rebid its park projects.
Executive Director Roger Short said total bids came in $800,000 over the $1.6 million budgeted for the five projects. New bids will be sought over the next month but the projects will be divided into subcontract bids rather than comprehensive projects.
The park projects include new parks in New Hope and the Anderson Grove area near Caledonia and renovations at Sim Scott Park, the East Columbus Gym and Townsend Park.
