Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office and Mississippi State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating Thursday’s house fire on Fulgham Road as arson.
Oktibbeha County Fire Department arrived at the scene around 6 a.m. to extinguish the blaze, but the fire had already “extensively damaged” the home, according to county Fire Services Coordinator Patrick Warner.
The homeowner was outside the house with her dog when the fire started, Warner said. No one was injured and the cause is unknown.
The Mississippi State Fire Marshal’s Office is continuing the investigation, OCSO Capt. Brett Watson said.
