An Oktibbeha County woman was found dead in her home Friday afternoon, sparking a homicide investigation, Sheriff’s Office Capt. Brett Watson said.
Authorities found the body of Arshuntary Brown, 28, in her home on Bethel Road and discovered she had been shot.
Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt said he believes Brown had been dead for “not long at all.”
Watson said, though the cause of death still hasn’t officially been determined, it is being investigated as a potential homicide. He told The Dispatch an inmate booked in Oktibbeha County Jail on unrelated charges is considered a suspect with possible connections to the incident.
