Deputies are searching for suspects involved in a shooting that sent two people to the hospital just after midnight Sunday.
Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of shots fired at 12:14 a.m. at the R&B Lounge, located at 107 Front St. in Artesia, according to an LCSO press release.
Two adults sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and were taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Oktibbeha County in their personal vehicles, the release said. Six vehicles were also damaged by gunfire.
Sheriff Eddie Hawkins said as of Monday afternoon, no suspects had been identified.
“We don’t have much to go on right yet,” Hawkins told The Dispatch. “We’re in the initial phase of the investigation, so as we get more, we’ll push it out.”
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information pertaining to the shooting is asked to contact LCSO at (662) 328-6788 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at (800) 530-7151.
