One man is in custody after an overnight incident resulted in multiple deaths.
Daricka Moore, a 24-year-old male, was booked on first degree murder charges, Clay County Chief Deputy Steven “Woody” Woodruff confirmed to The Dispatch. Moore was booked at 3:25 a.m. Saturday.
Six people are dead as a result of the incident, Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott confirmed to NBC News Saturday morning.
Few details are available at this time, but a press conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday.
“Unfortunately tonight we have dealt with a tragedy in our community, ” said Scott in a Facebook post early Saturday morning. “I ask that you life our victims and their families in your prayers.”
