STARKVILLE – Mississippi voters get a look Wednesday night at most of the candidates running this year for governor and lieutenant governor.
Mississippi State University is sponsoring a two-hour forum that begins at 6 p.m. in Bettersworth Auditorium on the Starkville campus.
Seven of the 11 candidates for governor and two of the three for lieutenant governor have accepted invitations to speak.
The university says Republican Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant, who”s running for governor, is not scheduled to take part.
The gubernatorial candidates who accepted invitations are Democrats Bill Compton Jr., Johnny DuPree, Bill Luckett and Guy Shaw, and Republicans Dave Dennis, Hudson Holliday and Ron Williams.
The Republican candidates for lieutenant governor, Billy Hewes and Tate Reeves, are scheduled to speak.
