Mississippi State junior Justin Cox has been suspended indefinitely from all football-related activities following his arrest Friday morning on suspicion of burglary and domestic violence.
MSU announced the 21-year-old’s suspension this morning.
At approximately 3 a.m. Friday, deputies with the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department responded to a burglary call on Rocky Road in the Aspen Heights apartment complex. Deputies on scene found a woman with an injury to her head, according to Lt. Brett Watson of the OCSD.
Cox was then arrested. He was booked into the Oktibbeha County Jail. He was released after posting a $20,000 and he awaits arraignment.
According to a source close to Cox, the woman, who authorities have declined to identify, was Cox’s girlfriend.
Cox joined the Bulldogs after two years at East Mississippi Community College. He is a 2011 graduate of West Point High School.
