Michael Ferris Smith talks with Brock Miles while signing his book, Salvage This World, at Friendly City Books in Columbus Saturday afternoon. Smith’s appearance at the bookstore was in part to celebrate Indie Bookstore Day.
About 40 people were in line within the first 15 minutes of Smith signing.
Brock, of Louisiana and currently in his first year at the Columbus Air Force Base, got a book signed for his father, Brian Miles. Smith and Brian Miles attended high school and played baseball together.
Movies based on two of Michael’s books will be released soon: Rumble Through The Dark by end of summer and Desperation Road next spring.
