Two men were arrested Wednesday in connection with a drive-by shooting, according to a press release from Lowndes County Sheriff Eddie Hawkins.
Tyler Demond Harris, 23, and Aaron Kendrell Brooks, 24, were charged with aggravated assault and attempted murder, Hawkins said.
Around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday deputies responded to the area of 677 Yorkville Road for a shots-fired call, Hawkins said. Investigators believe that Harris and Brooks, who were driving separate vehicles, blocked in the victim’s vehicle and started shooting.
The victim’s vehicle, along with a nearby apartment, were hit several times, but there were no injuries reported, Hawkins said.
Investigators aren’t sure yet what the motive for the shooting was, Hawkins said, but the investigation is ongoing.
Both men were out on bond for previous charges, Hawkins said. Harris’ arrest history includes trafficking of a controlled substance and 21 misdemeanor charges, including carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and DUI.
Brooks has previously been charged with four felonies — three counts of aggravated assault and one of possession of contraband in a correctional facility. He has also been previously charged with providing false information to a law enforcement officer and public drunkenness, which are misdemeanors.
