CLAY COUNTY — A West Point man was arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
Ahmad Cox, 28, of 593 Industrial Access Rd., was charged with five counts of possession of cocaine and one count possession with intent to distribute. Cox’s arrest was a joint operation conducted by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Clay County Sheriff Department and the West Point Police Department, according to Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott.
Cox received a $150,000 bond. He is in the custody of the Clay County Detention Center.
In a press release, Scott said that the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Department at 662-494-2896, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics at 662-494-9744, West Point Police Department at 662-494-1244 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
In an unrelated incident, Clay County Sheriff Department Investigators arrested a Louisville man allegedly responsible for a rash of tractor thefts.
Shawn Swindle, 41, of 118 Woodland Dr., Louisville, was arrested and charged with grand larceny in the theft of an equipment trailer.
Scott said the Clay County Sheriff Department and Oktibbeha County Sheriff Department, along with the Mississippi Bureau of Agriculture Theft Investigators, are continuing a joint investigation into the theft of trailers in Oktibbeha and Clay County.
Swindle is in the custody of the Clay County Detention Center on a $25,000.00 bond.
