There’s a new buzz in Starkville’s business scene, and it’s coming from Lynn Lane.
Another vendor market is opening in Starkville. Co-owners Joe Robertson and The Flower Company’s Whitney Wofford, along with the Langston family of Sullivan’s Office Supply, are joining forces to create The Warehouse Market. Located at 1010 Lynn Lane, the market will set up shop in the former Aspen Bay location, which closed in 2023.
Robertson said the team is still looking for quality vendors to join the mix – everything from antiques and apparel to jewelry, bath goods, and local art.
“We identified that Starkville really wanted this kind of vendor mall,” Robertson said. “… We really like the idea of being a part of the Starkville community.”
Vendor applications are available on The Warehouse Market’s Instagram and Facebook pages.
Owners hope to open in March, so make sure you follow them on social media to get regular updates.
It’s officially the season for cozy sweaters, hot chocolate and a little holiday shopping.
Kicking off the holiday season, Starkville Main Street’s Holiday Bazaar will be 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 5-6 at The Mill, 600 Russell St.
Parking is free, admission is $8 for both days and $5 per day. This year’s event features a reindeer raffle with gifts valued at more than $100 each. This year’s event features tons of designers ranging from optohecary’s, jams and jellies, art pieces, stained glass and more.
Heading over to Columbus, we have a new spa in town.
Meraki Esthetic and Spa, 94 Bluebird Lane, hosts its grand opening 4-6 p.m. Nov. 6. Head over to the new spa for its official ribbon-cutting, refreshments and drawings for a giveaway.
Meraki, the Greek word meaning to do something with soul, creativity and love, offers various treatments, including medical-grade skincare, facials, waxing, permanent make up, massage therapy, nail care and more.
And finally, for our Columbus readers, the nation’s largest banking institution, Chase Bank, is officially making its way to town.
According to the Columbus Building Office, plans are underway for a new location at 1908 Hwy. 45 N., near Starbucks. While the project is still in the review stages, the branch will become Mississippi’s sixth Chase location once complete. Jenny Rudolph, who handles Chase regional media relations, confirmed the Columbus location would be a full-service branch by mid to late 2026, offering two ATMs, four private offices and a conference room.
Founded in 1877 by John Thompson, Chase now operates more than 5,000 branches and 15,000 ATMs nationwide, offering a full suite of banking and financial services. Chase’s media team couldn’t get back to me by press time Wednesday, but you know I’ll be keeping an eye on it.
Also, to the folks that celebrate: Happy Halloween! Pass out candy, even to teenagers, because we all know that there’s nothing scarier than growing up. Let kids be kids as long as they can. Be safe and stay warm!
