Lowndes County investigators and Metro Narcotics Unit personnel arrested a woman Thursday afternoon after about $25,000 worth of marijuana was found inside her apartment.
Myisha Meady, 25, of 247 William Roberts Road, Apt. 580, in Columbus, was arrested at her apartment complex.
Lowndes County Chief Deputy Greg Wright said LCSO investigators served the search warrant along with the Metro Narcotics Unit. Eli Perrigin, LCSO investigator, said the search warrant was based on believed stolen property, including firearms, inside the apartment.
“During our search, we found an estimated total of around $25,000 of marijuana in the residence along with some other possible stolen merchandise,” Perrigin said.
“Once she arrived on scene, she said she did live at apartment 580. During this time, she was taken into custody and a search was conducted on her vehicle at the time. A firearm along with other contraband was located in her vehicle.”
Perrigin said the weighed amount of the substance equals about three kilos.
Meady was charged with possession of marijuana, more than 1 ounce. The offense is a felony. Additional charges are possible if the other items recovered are stolen, Perrigin said, noting the apartment complex is within the city’s mailing address but under LCSO jurisdiction.
Meady’s bond has not been set.
Authorities also are searching for Ricky Roland, 26, of 247 William Roberts Road Apt. 580 in Columbus. Perrigin said Roland is a convicted felony who investigators believed was living at the residence and had a stolen firearm.

Receiving stolen property arrest
In an unrelated incident, Columbus police arrested a woman for having what they believed was a stolen weapon.
Ciasly Payne, 23, of 1205 Sixth Ave. N., was arrested Wednesday and charged with receiving stolen property.
Police recovered a number of items from her residence, including two handguns, a video game console and video games, big-screen televisions and a camera. According to police, only one of the handguns has come up stolen thus far and they are checking on the other items.
Police said a tip came in Tuesday through Crimestoppers regarding a man asking people if they wanted to purchase stolen property, and Payne reportedly bought things from him. According to police, the identity of the seller is unknown at this time.
