The Golden Triangle Development LINK has engaged a Greensboro, North Carolina-based search firm to help recruit its next CEO.
After interviews with multiple qualified search firms, the LINK chose Jorgenson Pace, according to a press release the LINK Executive Committee issued Thursday.
Jorgenson Pace specializes in the nonprofit and economic development and community development sectors, according to its website. It has served clients nationwide.
“This decision marks an important step in ensuring a thorough and thoughtful process as we move forward in selecting the right leader for the organization,” the Executive Committee’s statement reads. “The committee is committed to conducting this search with the best interests of the Golden Triangle region in mind. We look forward to working with Jorgenson Pace and will keep our stakeholders engaged and informed as the process advances.”
The search for a new CEO comes after Joe Max Higgins was fired in August for what the Executive Committee called workplace behavior and speech over an extended period that “do not reflect the values of this organization and the communities we serve.”
The conduct went “beyond profanity,” and “if known, would harm every member of this community,” according to an Executive Committee statement issued shortly after the Higgins’ firing.
Higgins served as CEO for the regional industrial development organization for more than 20 years. Chief Operations Officer Meryl Fisackerly is leading day-to-day operations at the LINK in the interim.
