Deputies with Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a suspect accused of robbing a home on Dallas Drive at gunpoint in November.
Anthony Gaige Handley, 28, has been charged with armed robbery and felon in possession of a weapon, according to an LCSO press release. Authorities had issued a warrant for his arrest after he allegedly stole several items from a Dallas Drive home on Nov. 29.
The homeowner arrived at his residence to see Handley loading the stolen goods into his vehicle, according to the press release. When the owner confronted Handley, Handley allegedly pulled a gun on him, took the items and left.
Deputies arrested Handley during a traffic stop on Monday, during which they discovered he had a bowie knife, leading to the possession of a weapon charge. According to court records, he was previously convicted of two counts of burglary of an automobile in Lowndes County in 2011.
