A homeless man in Steens suspected of armed robbery is at large, a sheriff’s office press release issued Monday said.
Deputies are seeking a man identified as Little John Shelby, 42, who allegedly forced his way into a home on Porter Lane on Saturday and held a female resident at knifepoint while demanding money.
Sheriff Eddie Hawkins told The Dispatch no one was injured in the robbery and the suspect left with $120 in cash.
Shelby is often seen walking or riding a bicycle in the Steens area, the press release said. He is white, weighs about 165 pounds and may have cut his hair.
Anyone with information on Shelby’s whereabouts is asked to contact Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office at (662) 328-6788, Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at (800) 530-7151 or leave a tip through the P3-Tips app. All tips are anonymous and Crime Stoppers may offer a cash reward.
