The Golden Triangle”s three Chamber of Commerce organizations — The Greater Starkville Development Partnership, Columbus Lowndes Development Link, and the West Point/Clay County Growth Alliance — announced they have suspended plans for the second annual Golden Triangle Business Expo on Thursday on the campus of East Mississippi Community College in Mayhew. Organizers hoped to showcase businesses to the regional community, but decided to defer the event because not enough businesses were able to participate on the 28th.
“We are working closely to plan events, not only in each of our communities, but also as a Golden Triangle region to build strong relationships across our communities. Many of our businesses have clients and potential clients throughout the area, and we believe our members are interested in events that facilitate contacts in all of our cities,” said Allison Matthews with the Greater Starkville Development Partnership.
“We are continuing to work together to plan regional events for the Golden Triangle,” Matthews said. She said the Partnership, Link and Alliance have scheduled a regional Business After Hours to take place this January.
The organizations are also working together to bring a national speaker to the region in February to focus on small business issues in each community.
