Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect accused of vandalizing Vibrant Church on Sunday.
A felony warrant has been issued for Mason Cline, 25, who is wanted for vandalism to a church, Public Information Officer Bryan Moore told The Dispatch.
Moore said Columbus Police Department responded to the church just before 8 p.m. Sunday, where officers found “God is dead” spray-painted on an exterior wall of the church building.
Moore did not provide an estimate of how much the damage would cost the church to repair. However, even damages to public buildings, including churches, totaling less than $500 could be punishable by up to a year in jail or a $1,000 fine, according to state law.
Anyone with information regarding Cline’s whereabouts is asked to contact CPD at (662) 244-3500 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at (800) 530-7151.
