STARKVILLE — A former Starkville High School teacher has been indicted for touching a minor with lustful purposes.
Randy Carlisle, 49, is accused of touching the buttocks of a female student who was younger than 18. The incident occurred on May 27, 2022, according to the indictment.
He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted of the charge. As a teacher, he also is considered a person who held a position of trust or authority over the alleged victim.
Carlisle was arrested by the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office and arraigned on Friday.
Carlisle began working with the Starkville-Oktibbeha County Public School District in 1992 and his employment was terminated Aug. 31, 2022, SOCSD Public Information Officer Haley Montgomery told The Dispatch.
