A fire destroyed a mobile home Wednesday in the southeastern portion of Oktibbeha County.
First responders from District 5 and East Oktibbeha volunteer fire departments were dispatched to 895 Cedar Lane about 9:21 p.m. for the structure fire after a passerby reported the blaze.
No injuries were reported, and the owner was not at home at the time of the incident.
“When we got there, it was a gone goose,” said Fire Services Coordinator Kirk Rosenhan. “That’s typical of a large mobile home. It went up like a tinderbox.”
Rosenhan said the fire’s cause has not yet been determined, and the incident remains under investigation.
