The case of Tiffany Craven has been bound over to the February term of the Lowndes County grand jury.
Craven, 23, of 195 Nichols Bend Road in Columbus, appeared in Municipal Court Thursday for a preliminary hearing.
Craven was arrested in September by the Columbus Police Department on two counts of felony taking of a vehicle and one count of DUI following incidents at Porter Lounge on Highway 69. Officers were dispatched to the bar the night of Sept. 12 after a female complainant reported Craven and a male companion drove off in her gray 1998 Toyota Camry.
As they were traveling on Highway 82, reportedly an argument ensued between Craven and the companion. As Craven drove off, the companion exited the vehicle wearing only a pair of boxer shorts.
Craven did not testify Thursday. Travis Robertson, a Columbus Police Department officer who is investigating the case, was the only person to testify.
Robertson was questioned by City Prosecutor Tim Hudson about the case, detailing how Craven allegedly took the vehicles.
Robertson told Hudson about Craven and the companion.
“They left; they were westbound on Highway 82, and were using the vehicle without the owner”s permission,” Robertson said.
According to police reports, Craven later took a white Ford F-150 pickup truck.
Robertson said both the Camry and pickup truck were recovered.
During his testimony, Robertson identified Craven”s companion as Cory Bullard.
Robertson said Bullard was supposed to meet with him to give a statement about what happened that night with Cravens.
“He has not come in to give a statement,” Bullard said.
Following Robertson”s testimony, Municipal Court Judge Curtis Austin said there was probable cause, and this case would be bound over to the Grand Jury.
Craven remains in custody at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
